The only fix seems to be quitting Wirecast and re-opening it, although once re-opened the same Wirecast document will work fine. This one is weird because the Blackmagic input audio level meter in System Preferences is fine, but it just sits at zero in Wirecast. Once a document is open and the audio is working, the audio will continue working as long as the document is open - this issue only crops up when opening/creating a Wirecast document.Ģ) Sometimes I get no audio on my Intensity Pro or Intensity Extreme in Wirecast. Likewise, copying the exact document to another machine works fine.

If I quit Wirecast, re-launch it, and create a new document, then the problem goes away, although the existing Wirecast document will continue to have the noise problem until I restart the computer, after which the exact same document will work fine. I do not think it's an issue with specific hardware because we have three identical systems, and I'm pretty sure each has displayed this problem at some point (although I am definitely going to start tracking this aspect closer). Selecting the second card, which is receiving identical input, does not show the problem - just the first card. This noise is evident in the Sound pane of System Preferences too (level meters are maxed out in both places). It seems about 5% of the time I open a Wirecast document on one of these machines, I get loud distorted noise on the first card's analog audio input in Wirecast. Basically, I have 3 new Mac Pro towers, each with two Intensity Pro cards installed.
